Should you hire a Pinterest manager or DIY?

To outsource or not to outsource your Pinterest marketing, that is the question. Well, this blog is here to help you out. You can find a list of things to consider & questions to ask yourself that will help you find which option is best for you and your business. No matter if you’re already active on the platform or you still need to create your account.

My Pinterest marketing is just starting out

Do you still need to create a Pinterest account for your business? Or do you already have one, but are only posting every once in a while? Welcome to group number 1! Here is a list of questions to ask yourself to find out if it’s best for you to outsource your Pinterest management to someone else, or just do it yourself.

ARE YOU WILLING TO LEARN ABOUT A WHOLE NEW PLATFORM?

As a Pinterest manager myself, I often notice that businesses don't know how to use the platform "the right way". Usually, they copy whatever they are doing on Instagram and hope to see results. But that won't do. You will need to invest some of your time (and probably also some money) to learn all the tips and tricks about Pinterest so that you won’t be just wasting your time, but actually achieving results.

There are 2 ways you can do this: you can either invest in a course or a mentorship program (like my own), or you can go down the free path. This of course will mean that you will have to spend a lot of time reading the articles, listening to the podcasts and testing different methods yourself. Which one do you like best?

DO YOU HAVE THE TIME?

If you want for Pinterest to work for you, you will need to make sure to constantly create and publish new content. And this, of course, requires time. After you get used to the process of managing your Pinterest account, you will probably need to dedicate about 2 hours to Pinterest every week. So the question is, do yo have the time?

Take a long, hard look at your calendar & your day-to-day tasks. Can you add Pinterest to your to-do list, or are you already running out of time for everything else that you need to take care of?

CAN YOU AFFORD TO HIRE SOMEONE?

The last thing to consider is often the deal-breaker - do you have the money? After a quick Google search, you'll be able to see that the prices for Pinterest management services vary a lot. Some are super low, others can be quite high. Now, take a look at your finances and see if you can afford to hire someone. If the money is tight, then maybe you should put off investing into Pinterest for a couple of months. On the other hand, if you have the budget, then this may be your opportunity to do it. Whatever you do, the most important thing is that you feel good about your decision.

I'm already managing my Pinterest account myself

Congrats! The most important step is already behind you. You are actively posting content on Pinterest, you have a good idea what you're doing, and you're seeing results. If you created your account awhile back but haven't been active since, then I'd advise you to scroll back up, and check the questions under the "My Pinterest is just starting out" group. I do believe that those are more relevant to your case.

DO YOU LIKE DOING THIS?

Some people love marketing. They love creating content, writing, coming up with ideas, and so on. Others, not so much. If you've been enjoying the process of managing your Pinterest, then, by all means, keep on going! But, if this has been a struggle for you, something that you kept on postponing until the last minute, then maybe you should just find somebody else to do it.

DO YOU THINK YOU COULD GET EVEN BETTER RESULTS?

If you've been doing this for some time and have been seeing the results, there's a good chance that you could do better still. Of course, nobody expects you to be a Pinterest expert. You are doing your own thing and Pinterest is just not your jam. That's why hiring a Pinterest manager, someone who is an expert in this field could bring you even better results.

IS THIS THE BEST USE OF YOUR TIME?

You are a business owner. And as a business owner, you have a lot of your plate, so you need to consider what is the best use of your time. Think of it this way: you spend x amount of hours every week to create content for Pinterest. If you delegate that work to someone else, then it would mean that every week, you would have x hours more. Could you use that time for something that would bring you even more value? Something that only you can do? Or, on the other hand, if you’re taking care of Pinterest during your “free time”, wouldn’t you rather spend that time doing something else?

ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE A PINTEREST MANAGER A SHOT?

In case you've already been thinking about hiring someone to manage your Pinterest account but decided not to do it because you're not sure if it is actually worth it, you're probably thinking too hard about it. Of course, every Pinterest manager has a different style of work, and some might require more input or time from you than others. But what is common to all of us is the fact that we want to help you out. As a Pinterest manager myself, I'm trying to do this by allowing you to hand me over your account completely. It's probably the one thing that my clients love most about working with me: being able to totally forget about Pinterest, let me do all the work and just reap the results.
