How to double your website traffic with Pinterest
Doubling your website traffic with Pinterest - it sounds too good to be true, right? Well, that was exactly what happened to one of my clients last month! So how is it possible, and how long would it take you to get the same results?
If you're new around here (hi!), then there are a few things you need to know about Pinterest first:
✵ Pinterest is a search engine, not a social media platform
✵ Pins live (& work for you) for a very long time. A single pin can be bringing eyes to your content & people to your website for months!
✵ Every single pin that you publish links to your website >> the more content you create, the more opportunities you have to get people to visit your website
That being said, if you start using Pinterest today, how long will it take to double your website traffic? Well, I hate being the party pooper, but my answer is this: "it depends".

✵ It depends on your current website traffic: let's say that at the moment, 200 people visit your website every month. To double that it would mean getting 200 website visitors from Pinterest every month. Of course this will be a lot faster to achieve than if you want to get from 1000 website visitors to 2000.
✵ It depends on your posting strategy: if you only post a handful of pins every month, it will take you a lot longer to grow your account than if you're posting consistently
✵ It depends on your account: if you already have a Pinterest account that you've been using for some time (even if not regularly at all), you will probably see results a bit faster than if you're starting completely from scratch
✵ & it depends on your niche: if you're creating very niche & specific content that is only relevant to a small group of people, then you most likely won't explode your website traffic over night. On the other hand, if you're publishing pins that a lot of people are searching for (example: social media tips) & appeal to a larger audience, then your chances are a lot better
Now onto the numbers that I promised you
The client that has grew her website traffic by 100% thanks to Pinterest first started working with me at the beginning of 2021. We started her account from scratch and had her first pin published in February. In March & April we weren't posting at all & only resumed that in May. She doubled her website traffic by mid-September.
This means that we were posting less than 6 months in total and we got Pinterest from bringing 0 people to her website in January 2021 to now bringing 50% of all the website visitors 9 months later.
Pretty amazing, right?
